Commercial Vehicles
Movement in the largest country on earth
MAN is one of the world’s leading suppliers of commercial vehicles. Record sales of more than 100,000 trucks and buses confirm our continuous growth. In the Russian Federation, we face temperatures of -50 to +40 degrees Celsius and have proved that we can deliver reliability on a day-to-day basis.
- Our products guarantee success:
-
Our flagship special purpose truck, the MAN TGA, is a real success story in Russia with a constantly growing market share. The reason for the success of this truck, which was specially developed for use in extreme climate conditions and which features a load compartment heating system and air conditioning, is that it starts reliably day after day, even in Siberia.
As early as the mid-1980s, we exported our trucks to what was then the USSR. As the economy grows, more and more medium-sized enterprises are also becoming MAN customers. Sales figures in Russia have tripled in 2007 compared with 2006. Our most important customers include the Surgutneftegaz energy group with an annual order volume of 50 vehicles, and the JSC TransKreditBank with an order for 1,000 heavy duty TGA trucks in 2007. The confidence shown in us by our partners strengthens our resolve to further consolidate our position in the growth markets of Eastern Europe, Asia and, in particular, Russia.
With currently over 300 employees, our own Trucknology® Center in Podolsk and a wide network of service centres and dealerships, we will continue to expand our presence in the Russian market in the future.
- MAN Buses and Coaches - growth in the bus market as well:
-
We meet the exacting requirements of our customers in the Russian bus market with our NEOPLAN and MAN buses. Just two years after entering the market, MAN has already become the third largest Western European importer with customers like IKEA or the oil producer Surgutneftegaz in Siberia. Our chassis and buses, along with our used vehicles, are premium products that embody “MAN-made quality” and get Russians safely to their destination.
