Diesel Engines
From the first diesel power plant to the latest worldwide innovation.
MAN is one of the world’s leading suppliers of diesel engines for ships and power plants. In a vast country like Russia with its huge gas and oil reserves, diesel and gas power plants play an important role in decentralised energy supply systems.
- Russia's main areas of development:
-
Energy and transport will be the two main areas of development in Russia in the near future. We have been supplying our customers with reliable and innovative products since 1959. Their power currently ranges from 450 to 97,300 kW and is being driven forward by our global workforce of over 7,000 employees. As the world’s leading supplier of large diesel engines for marine and power plant applications, we develop two-stroke and four-stroke engines, auxiliary engines, turbochargers and propulsion systems, including CP propellers.
- Leading the way forward:
-
MAN Diesel has repeatedly set international standards in Russia by working with forward-looking customers. Our first milestone was the supply of diesel engines for the world’s first diesel power plant in Kiev in 1904. Today, Mezhregionenergogaz is a customer for one of our latest innovations. The Gazprom subsidiary ordered two of our newly developed 32/40PGI gas engines including the plant-specific fixtures and fittings, waste heat boilers and exhaust gas stacks for a power plant in Moscow.
- Performance Gas Injection (PGI):
-
The abbreviation PGI stands for “Performance Gas Injection”, a completely new high-energy ignition system that dispenses with spark plugs. The 32/40PGI thus combines the high efficiency of a diesel engine with the low emissions of a gas engine for the first time. In addition to the advantage we offer in terms of our expertise in the development of diesel engines, you will also benefit from our after-sales service which includes the supply of original spare parts, as well as maintenance. Our global after-sales organisation, MAN Diesel PrimeServ, also operates in Russia.
